Authentic FC Barcelona Football Shirts from Nike
The Barcelona home shirt 2013/14 is one of Nike’s flagship partnerships – and not surprisingly.
Their record last season was something else: 60 games played, 43 wins, 158 goals scored and hitting 100 points at the top of La Liga. It was their 22nd championship and they left Real Madrid, and others, in their wake, as they fought against some difficult periods throughout the season under Tito Vilanova.
Lionel Messi, as always, was pivotal in their success with a jaw-dropping 46 goals in 32 games. The poster boy of La Masia, the respected academy of Barcelona, Messi will look to fire the Catalans to respective glory in the domestic scene again. Fans, and just admirers, of Barca around the globe can pick up a whole host of Messi-related accessories and merchandise. The brand-new Barcelona home kit, mixing their usual red-and-blue colours, will be most popularly sold with ‘MESSI 10’ on the back – but there are other stars in the squad, too.
Barcelona have opened their cheque book to sign Brazilian kid Neymar from Santos for over £50m and he will wear the #11 Barca jersey next season. For those gripped by the new arrival, ‘NEYMAR 11’ is almost certainly one of the expected selections for Barcelona supporters worldwide. Still struggling for options? Well, there’s Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas alongside that. Plus, expect the likes of Thiago Alcantara, Cristian Tello and Marc Montoya to be the next coming through from La Masia.
Supporters are spoiled for choice with this excellent 2013-14 range from Nike for FC Barcelona; going from new kits, tracksuits, training wear, Authentic Nike wear and a vast range of accessories whether for home, or for following Barca on their travels in Spain next season.
FC Barcelona, popularly known as Barca, have a deep cultural heritage and winning tradition spanning over 100 years. Winning the first Liga in 1929, Barcelona are one of only three teams to have never been relegated from La Liga, the top division in Spanish Football. The club have come to embody the very spirit of Catalan culture and Catalanism, representing this cultural identity in el clásico matches with rival club Real Madrid, who are the only Spanish club outnumbering Barcelona in terms of trophies won. They are also second only to Real in club wealth, with global annual revenue reaching €400 million.
A Quick Look at the Barcelona Kit
For over a century, Barcelona refrained from corporate sponsorship on their kits. Beginning with the 06-07 season kit, their shirts bore the UNICEF logo in an agreement that had the club not accepting funds but rather donating €1.5 million annually through the FC Barcelona Foundation. The 11-12 Barcelona Kit, with its Qatar Foundation logo, is the first in the club’s history to bear a traditional corporate sponsor.
While the Barcelona Away Kit has seen numerous colour changes through the years, the Barcelona Home Kit has been red and blue since 1900, one year after the club’s birth. Barcelona’s shirt manufacturer has been Nike since 1998. With the global distribution Nike affords, Barcelona Shirts, Barcelona Training Wear, Barcelona Kids Shirts, and Barcelona Accessories are all now widely available to fans the world over.
