RB Leipzig Football Shirt Archive - A Visual History

RB Leipzig were formerly SSV Markranstädt until they were taken over by energy drink company Red Bull. The owners wanted to be competing in the Bundesliga within 8 years. The club then played in the 5th tier of German football but they have climbed the ladder to the Bundesliga in just 7 seasons. They have a love hate relationship with German fans. Some thinking they are a sleek, performing outfit whilst others believe they betray German Football's fan based, grass roots stance. They are the first Eastern German club in the Bundesliga since 2009. Their youth system is impressive and they look to give younger players the chance to play. Some notable players include Timo Werner, Emil Forsberg and Oliver Burke. This season they'll be hoping for another impressive year after finishing 2nd in their first season in the Bundesliga.
