Mohamed Salah Ghaly (born 15 June 1992)
Salah started his youth soccer career with El Mokawloon in 2006. He went on to make his senior team debut in the Egyptian Premier League on 3 May 2010 with the same club. Salah scored his first goal for the club in December, 2010 against fellow Egyptian side El Ahly. He remained a regular for El Mokawloon, however, following the Port Said Stadium disaster, early February 2012, the Egyptian Premier League stopped and all subsequent matches were postponed.
Swiss club Basel had been impressed with the young player and signed Salah on a four year deal in 2012. Salah helped guide Basel to the 2012-13 Swiss Super League title in his first season. Salah made his league debut on 12 August against Thun, he played the full match. He scored his first league goal a week later against Lausanne. In 2013 Salah scored his first Europa League against English side Tottenham Hotspur, Basel knocked them out on penalties.
Salah moved to Chelsea for a fee reported to be in the region of £11 million in January 2014, making his debut a month later. Salah scored his first goal for the club against London rivals: Arsenal, in a match which ended with a 6–0 win for the Blues. Salah's time at Chelsea was brief, in 2015 he moved out on loan, first with Fiorentina followed by a spell at Roma. On 3 August 2016, Roma made the deal permanent.
On 22 June 2017, Salah agreed a transfer to Liverpool. He was assigned the number 11 shirt after Firmino switched to No.9. He moved to Liverpool in July, becoming Liverpool's first Egyptian player. Salah scored on his debut against Watford in a 3–3 draw on 12 August. Mohamed Salah has had a blistering start to his career at Liverpool, earning the respect and admiration of many former greats of the game, including former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard who stated "we are witnessing the start of greatness".
