They are one of the most successful clubs in Brazil and also one of the most supported. They have won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A 5 times and the Copa do Brasil 3 times. They hold the record for the most spectators at a game when 194,603 people turned out to see their 1963 game against Fluminense. Some famous players include Ronaldinho, Zico and Sócrates.
