Italy National Football Team: A Brief History of the Federation and its Kit

The Italian National Football Team may be considered history's most successful European football federation for their dominance in World Cup competition. Having won the World Cup Trophy in 1934, 1938, 1982, and 2006, their four victories in the tournament is a mark only eclipsed by Brazil's five. They also have one European Championship to their credit, having won the tournament in 1968, and one Olympic Football Championship, having won the gold in 1936. Founded in 1910, the Italian National Team is now entering its second century of excellence, with greats from the 2006 World Cup Champion squad like Gianluigi Buffon, Gennaro Gattuso, Francesco Totti, Alessandro Del Piero, and Fabio Cannavaro passing the torch to the next generation of Italian players such as Belotti, Verratti and Chiesa.

World Cup 2018

Italy went out of Euro 2016 on penalties against Germany in the Quarter Final. They have somewhat struggled since then and are very much in a transitional phase.
