France have been fairly regular faces at World Cup tournaments over the years but won their first trophy in their home World Cup in 1998. They then went on to win the Euro 2000 Championship. The closest they have come since then is runners up at Euro 2016, losing out to Portugal in the final. With a strong squad and a good qualifying campaign, Les Bleus had strong tournament, running out winners of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. They beat a strong Croatian side 4-2.
