Iker Casillas is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. Nicknamed "San Iker" for his ability to produce spectacular saves, known for his quick reactions and outstanding shot-stopping ability. Casillas joined Real Madrid's youth setup for the 1990-91 season, making his first team debut in 1997, aged just 16. Iker Casillas made a total of 725 appearances for Real Madrid before his move to Porto in 2015. He was part of the roster for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, at 21, Casillas was one of the youngest first-choice goalkeepers in the tournament. Casillas is highly regarded all around the world, and his mentioned along with true great 'keepers Lev Yashin, Gordon Banks and Gianluigi Buffon.
