Authentic Werder Bremen Football Shirts from Nike
Werder Bremen are one of the biggest clubs in the North and hoping to kick-start a brand new era for the club. The River Islanders last won the German title in 2003/04 and have regularly flown the flag for the Bundesliga in the UEFA Champions League.
But consecutive disappointing seasons saw Thomas Schaaf, the long-standing head coach of the club for 14 years, depart, with Robin Dutt coming in as the man in charge with Thomas Eichin as sporting director. The last two seasons have been tough for Bremen with finishes in the bottom-six and in 2012/13, their survival was only secured in the last few games of the campaign.
The loss of Kevin de Bruyne has been felt over the summer, but Dutt has already made strides to improving Bremen’s finish this season. Nils Petersen has completed a move from FC Bayern, Cedric Makiadi has joined from Freiburg for £2m and Italian U-21 defender Luca Caldirola is a smart coup from Inter Milan. The Weser-Stadion is one of the iconic arenas in German football and the new additions will be looking to guarantee European football next season.
Green is the colour in Bremen and NIKE’s 2013/14 Werder home shirt has a faded diamond design, sponsored by local food group Wiesenhof. NIKE has been a partner at Werder in recent years and they will be dressed for the next two years. The away shirt is a retro-white design, with a black collar and an all-blacks kit for the third Werder 13/14 shirt.
