Authentic FC Augsburg kits and range from Jako
From second-bottom to survival, Markus Wienzierl has performed a miracle at FC Augsburg in 2012/13.
Wins against Werder Bremen, Hamburg, Hoffenheim, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Greuther Furth on Matchday 34 secured their Bundesliga status for a second season. Their 30,000-strong crowd hadn’t much time to celebrate across the season, but they were in typical Bavarian party-mode, as they survived a potential relegation.
Bringing some firepower to Augsburg’s attack is 24-year-old striker Mathias Fetsch from Regionalliga side Kickers Offenbach. Goals are crucial for the Bavarians and a reliance on Sascha Molders made life tough at the SGL-Arena last season. A huge loss for the club is the departure of South Korean duo Koo and Dong-Won Ji who have returned to Wolfsburg and Sunderland, respectively.
Augsburg are waving ‘Tschuss’ to a number of their 2.Bundesliga promotion side, including Sebastian Langkamp (Hertha Berlin), Torsten Oerhl (Braunschweig) and goalkeeper Simon Jentzsch who retires at the age of 37.
FC Augsburg have a strong connection with manufacturers JAKO with a red and white horizontal stripe down the right-side of their Green home shirt for 2013/14. Although the home kit for last season, Augsburg will save the white JAKO shirt for their main away kit. Not as big, the white shirt has a neat red/green trim: the traditional colours of FCA.
Plus, there’s a neat black shirt for Augsburg’s third kit, which also includes white-green-red midriff stripe across the top.
Wienzierl is a talented, young coach – but even he will have his work cut out as Augsburg trainer for 2013/14.
