Following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993 , the Czech Republic kept the nation's football colours in the 'Velvet Divorce.' Less than 3 years later they achieved one of the greatest underdog successes in modern football reaching the final of Euro 96. Historically they have always worn a white away shirt, but in 2019 a daring all lime green kit was announced inspired by young linden tree leaves, the national symbol of the Czech Rep. The shirt designed to show the new wave of optimism for the young national team was first worn on the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution.
